Challenges

ADSSC was established in 2005 at which time assets previously operated and maintained by the Municipalities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain were transferred to ADDSC. Currently ADSSC owns, operates and maintains - 2 main STP, 24 package STP, 236 pumping stations (80% in AD) and over 7400km of sewer mains (66% in AD). ADSSC is also responsible for planning and implementing system expansion required to support future growth.

Key challenges entail:
• Meeting Abu Dhabi’s projected rapid population growth
• Ensuring that the infrastructure expansion and mega projects as outlined in the Abu Dhabi Policy Agenda are delivered on time and to budget.
• Managing cost in a relatively high inflation environment
• Attracting and developing a skilled workforce
